The honest number
A smaller catalogue, on purpose
Roughly a quarter of the stations in the public directory never reach you. They failed a check: the stream no longer answers, or it is offered only over plain http, which a browser on a secure page refuses to play. A list that includes them anyway hands you silence.
We would rather show you a shorter list of stations that answered our last check. A result you can click and not hear is worse than one result fewer.

What you save without an account stays on your device. With an account, your library is stored with it so your own devices can share it, and you can export it or delete the account from Settings.

Because internet radio breaks constantly, and almost never because of the app. We check streams several times a day and rebuild our list every night without the ones that fail, so roughly a quarter of what exists is left out. When we measured on 12 September, about 97% of the stations we offered answered. Of the ones that were genuinely dead, about a quarter had simply been taken down, a fifth had an expired security certificate the broadcaster has to renew, and fewer than one in twenty looked blocked to listeners outside a particular country. If one fails anyway, use Report broken in the player; adding your country helps us tell a block from a dead station.
